Sub: Financial assistance for treatment of blood cancer for my wife Roshan S Kakalia.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I, Sarosh K Kakalia, husband of the above mentioned Roshan S Kakalia, would like to inform you that my wife, 23 years of age, has been unexpectedly diagnosed with a very serious blood cancer. The doctors have informed us that it is completely curable but the costs is 6 lakhs which is only for the first month treatment and possibly the treatment would last 3 years which would run the cost of the roof.
She is at present admitted at the P.D. Hinduja National Hospital, Veer Savarkar Marg, Mahim, Mumbai 400016, India, in the Oncology ward (Medium Grade Room). Her initial estimated stay out here will be a month as per the doctor's diagnosis. She is being treated by Dr Asha Kapadia (Head of the Oncology Department) and has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) – "B" Cell type. She remains in a critical state as of now.
I am a Merchant Navy seaman by profession, but am unemployed since the past one year due to the recession in industry. I hope to resume as soon as possible getting back on my feet again so that I can support my family.
My wife is a home maker and both her parents are deceased. She has a brother who is married and has a family of his own. He is a computer graduate earning a salary just enough to support his family.
My parents are both retired and hence I am the only earning member of the family. My father used to work for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a Sales Representative and my mother has always been a housewife.
We also had a baby boy just one month ago. Our son ('ERIC') is perfectly healthy as per all his doctors by the grace of god.
From our side, my wife has Rs. 2 lakh Mediclaim policy. We have also risen about Rs. 3 lakhs at the moment, with the help of our relatives. I will do whatever possible to raise as much funds as I can from my side. However the costs involved in the treatment are burdensome and if the treatment extends beyond an anticipated point of time, they could very well turn out to be prohibitive.
Therefore I humbly request your esteemed organization to consider our case sympathetically and kindly provide financial assistance to help us cope with this crisis. Hoping for a favorable response.
Yours sincerely
Sarosh K Kakalia
